How it gets described on the phone
- Bin sitting empty for days with the arm down and everything else behaving normally

What actually gets tested
- Inlet valve, filter age and static water pressure at the supply, before the module is blamed for anything
- Fill volume and fill-tube alignment measured across a complete harvest cycle
- Harvest watched end to end — a cycle that stalls halfway is a different fault to one that never fills
- Drain line and pump on clear-ice machines, including scale in the trap
- Cube size and clarity, and the temperature of the bin the cubes then sit in
The first two readings on an ice call are pressure at the valve and fill volume over a full cycle, because a module being starved of water behaves exactly like a module that has failed. Hollow or cloudy cubes point at a cycle being cut short; an empty bin with the arm down points at fill. Neither of those needs the module out of the cabinet to establish.
